Letter from the Developers

Recommended Posts

Hello r0nians,

First of all we want to thank you for your continued support and the trust you've bestowed upon us.
The initial plan when the server concept was brought up is to present the zero experience outside korea. It was a bold and challenging move, that we embraced thinking we could provide the most accurate experience of zero mechanics possible. Over the course of time we then realized that the zero mechanic by itself wasn't gonna cut it, since it has pay to win elements imbued unto it to function properly. We tried many many ways, including hearing player feedback to adapt and make the experience truly awesome for you guys.

There were multiple adjustments made and we tried a few unique approach in order to try and solve the issues. Trying to create a model that could bring zero mechanics into life and better, keeping everyone entertained and didn't include pay to win mechanics. Each of them had their successful and fail moments, but each time we made one of those attempts, we pleased some and displeased others. That ended up creating an atmosphere that scared away new players and veterans alike over the course of the months.

Analyzing our player traffic numbers, even after the flock, we kept seeing a stable income of players coming to our server and leave after a few days. We tried really hard to change that number, but no matter what we do, the numbers were kept the same. We got new players interested and they left after a while, before even getting to know or understand how meaningful zero changes were. After several deliberations, we reached the ultimate conclusion that we couldn't bring back those new bluebirds that flew away before getting to know our server, there was too much "bad blood" spilled that prevented the core and quality mechanics from shining. So we made the difficult decision of opening up a new server and change even more of the core zero mechanics, based on feedback we had and our own ideas. We could've simply wiped up our legacy (now named Aesir) server, but that wouldn't be very respectful with the ones that stood with us until the end, then we made it stay as a legacy server so all those memories and stuff you battled hard to earn are there for you to keep and relive, anytime you want if you chose to do so.

But we still had to move ahead. We still wanted to bring the zero mechanics to life, now with a new concept and with a new vision we chose to embrace. We didn't sit back idle while things got worse, we strive to improve, we strive to bring the best experience we could.

All of this wouldn't be possible without your continued support, so for that, once again we deeply and humbly thank you all and ask you one more time to embark with us on that journey.

Let's go one more time on an adventure.

Thank you Holly for that official word and explanation for how things turned out to be.

In my humble opinion, it came a bit too late. All the fuzz could have been avoided if this post had came first, then seconded by the other one announcing the future of the server, or even at the same time. Have the decision been discussed and explained earlier with the remaining community, the acceptance of it would have been way higher or even encouraged.

I really hope the communication the whole staff, not only one member of it, has with the community will improve.
I take this reply as beginning of it, even as a prof and a step towards that improvement.

Even if "Aesir" stays as a legacy server, it would be cool to have registrations to it open again (so people who enjoy no-trans classes can join), some bug fixes (channels, magma gear, for example), and tweaks (better jellos rewards, BG gear prices and numbers to initiate it, for example).

I think some people would accept the fact of not having new content beyond what it already has, but having them more adapted to a small population would be more then well welcomed. But having just a recollection server that has no potential of growth or to meet new people is just not viable, people will just progressively let it fall into oblivion, unless that's the plan...

Thanks for the presence and for the reply

I'll be asking for sure if registrations for Aesir will be made available again and get back to you, i also will be sending all that feedback towards the staff so you can rest assured that your concerns(and everyone's else) will be heard(can't make any promises that they will be granted, but at least heard they will be)!

One more time, thanks for the support, means a lot to me, to us actually...

while we can't really compromise to a date yet, it will most likely be opening during next week, we are working as fast as we can

Whoever creates an account to play in the beta version, will also have to create another account to play in the final version of this server? Or will the same beta account be used for the final version?

Hi Ragna0 team,

Just a small suggestion: You guys should take advantage that in these days of chaos for the coronavirus there are a lot of players stucked at home. "Rag Players".

Ragnarok Trascendence is just another very Laggy bad managed server. Ragnarok:Zero exist already since 2years and a global english version of it came just a few months ago.. that sucks. This is why i've my hopes on Ragnarok0 (your server). Even if its coming late, the prospective to follow the updates of kRO is really something. I can't wait for it!

Please do your best to release it as fast as possible. You guys have more support than you expect.

Thanks for  the hard work.

Best regards,

AcioZero
